Laura Cheadle + The Girls are an electrifying all-female Pop, Soul, and Rock band led by Philly’s own acclaimed singer-songwriter and guitarist Laura Cheadle. Based in the Philadelphia region, the group has quickly established itself as a powerful force blending soulful vocals, infectious energy, and uplifting messages of empowerment, equality, and authenticity. The band proudly advocates for women and the LGBTQIA+ community while delivering unforgettable live performances filled with joy, passion, and connection.
Known for her powerhouse voice and dynamic stage presence, Laura Cheadle has spent years building an impressive career that has taken her from local venues to major stages across the United States and Europe. Throughout her career, she has opened for/shared the stage with The Jonas Brothers, Sister Hazel, The Spin Doctors, Average White Band, Felix Cavaliere’s Rascals, Kasim Sultan, John Oates/Hall and Oates, Terrance Simien, Peter Tork of The MONKEES, Garland Jeffreys, Constantine Maroulis, Ryan Cabrera, Derek Forbes, The Stars From The Commitments, John Sebastian, Marc Broussard, Robert Randolph & The Family Band, Big Freedia and many more.
Her accolades include winning "Best Indie Jazz/Blues Band" at the WXPN-sponsored Tri-State Indie Music Awards and receiving recognition as a "Musician of the Decade" for her contributions to independent music.
Beyond her musical accomplishments, Laura has earned recognition for her advocacy and community involvement. She has been featured in publications such as Curve Magazine and GO Magazine, where she was honored as one of the "100 Women We Love." She has also been recognized by South Jersey Magazine as a "Super Woman" for her charitable efforts and dedication to making a positive impact through music and activism.
Laura's music has reached audiences beyond the stage, appearing in the Tribeca Film Festival selection They're Here. She has also gained national exposure through appearances on television programs including 6ABC's "Tuned In," NBC 10, and the reality competition show "Next Great Family Band." Most recently, Laura and her wife Michelle appeared on and won the CBS game show "Raid The Cage," further expanding their platform as advocates for visibility, representation, and inclusivity.
